We sometimes change or adjust filing locations among our service centers or lockbox facilities to balance our incoming workload for timely processing. We may also refine addresses to improve internal processes at our service centers or lockbox facilities.
This page provides an up-to-date summary of changes we make to any filing location. You can also subscribe to the “Lockbox and Service Center Filing Location Updates” GovDelivery distribution list to receive an email each time we update a filing location.

Applications, petitions, or requests that are not mailed to the appropriate filing location may experience processing delays or may be rejected as improperly filed and returned to you to re-file.
June 2023
- On June 28, we updated the filing location for applicants filing Form I-821, Application for Temporary Protected Status, under the designation for Honduras and Nepal.
- On June 23, we added Elgin, IL as a filing location for applicants filing Form I-821, Application for Temporary Protected Status, under the designation for El Salvador.
- On June 26, we added the lockbox filing location for requestors filing Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service, when filed together with Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status, for certain categories.
- On June 12, we added the lockbox filing location for requestors filing Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service, to upgrade a pending Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status, for certain categories.
- On June 9, we added the lockbox filing location for applicants filing Form I-131, Application for Travel Document, applying for Re-Parole under the Operation Allies Welcome (OAW) program.
- On June 5, we changed the service center filing location for those filing Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, TN free trade petitions (noncitizens from Canada and Mexico) requesting an extension of stay or change of status, or a TN-1 application filed on behalf of a Canadian citizen who is outside of the United States. These should now be filed at the Texas Service Center instead of the Vermont Service Center. We will provide a 60-day grace period for filings that are mailed to the Vermont Service Center. Beginning Aug. 6, we will reject any Form I-129 TN applications filed at the Vermont Service Center that is postmarked after that date.
May 2023
On May 31, we changed the lockbox filing location for those filing affirmative Form I-589, Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal, with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
April 2023

March 2023
- On March 30, we changed the lockbox filing location to Tempe, AZ for courier delivery services for FedEx, UPS, and DHL for the USCIS Phoenix lockbox. The filing location remains the same when using the U.S. Postal Service.
- On March 30, we changed the lockbox filing location for applicants and/or petitioners filing certain employment-based forms.
- On March 20, we changed the service center filing location for U nonimmigrants filing Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, to the Nebraska Service Center only, and not at the Vermont Service Center.
- On March 6, we added the lockbox filing location for requestors filing Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service, to request premium processing for a pending Form I-765 under certain categories.
February 2023
On Feb. 10, we changed the service center filing location for self-petitioning abused spouses, children, and parents filing Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant, and Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, to the Nebraska Service Center instead of the Vermont Service Center.
January 2023
- On Jan 4, we added the lockbox filing location for applicants filing Form I-956K, Registration for Direct and Third-Party Promoters.
- On Jan. 1, we changed the service center filing location for Form I-730, Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition. Previously, this petition was filed either at the Texas Service Center or the Nebraska Service Center depending on the state where the petitioner resides. With this change, all Form I-730 petitions should be filed at the Texas Service Center.
