U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is committed to providing accessible Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to individuals with disabilities, including members of the public and federal employees, by meeting or exceeding the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (29 U.S.C. 794d).

Section 508 requires agencies, as they procure, develop, maintain, or use ICT, to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access and use ICT information and data comparably with how individuals without disabilities can access and use it, unless this would impose an undue burden on the agency. Section 508 standards are the technical requirements and criteria that measure how well we conform with the law and incorporate the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.

Report accessibility issues or file a formal complaint

If you believe that our ICT does not comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, you may file a 508 complaint by emailing USCIS-SECTION508@uscis.dhs.gov. Please indicate the nature of your accessibility problem, the web address (URL) of the material you are having difficulty with, the format you prefer to receive the material in, and your contact information. This information will help us respond to you more effectively.

If you believe that a physical facility that is designed, built, altered, or leased with federal funds by the Department of Homeland Security does not comply with the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA), refer to the U.S. Access Board’s website under ABA Enforcement – File a Complaint.
