An Afghan national inside the United States applying for Re-Parole under Operation Allies Welcome (OAW): 

  • Select 1.e. in Part 2 of Form I-131;
  • Handwrite “REPAROLE” at the top of the form;
  • Enter “OAR” or “PAR” as Class of Admission;
  • If you are also requesting an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) upon approval of a new period of parole:
    • And you are using the 06/06/23 E or the 06/06/23 edition of Form I-131, select “Yes” in Part 8. Do not submit a Form I-765.
    • And you are using the 10/31/22 edition of Form I-131, also handwrite “OAW EAD” at the top of the form, regardless of whether your Class of Admission is PAR or OAR.  Do not submit a Form I-765.

Parole in place (inside the U.S.) for service members and their family
If you are…Send your form to…

 

Inside the United States and applying for parole in place and you are an active duty member of the U.S. armed forces, or a member of the Selected Reserve of the Ready Reserve.

The USCIS field office that has jurisdiction over where you live. If you are currently on assignment away from your permanent residence, you may file your Form I-131 at either the office with jurisdiction over where you currently live or over your permanent residence.

You may also submit your application in person at your local USCIS field office.

Inside the United States and applying for parole in place as the spouse, widow(er), parent, son, or daughter, of an active duty member of the U.S. armed forces, a member of the Selected Reserve of the Ready Reserve, or an individual (whether still living or deceased) who previously served on active duty or in the Selected Reserve of the Ready Reserve and was not dishonorably discharged.

In the case of a parent of a service member, the service member must support the parent’s request for parole in place.

The USCIS field office that has jurisdiction over where you live. If you are currently away from your permanent residence due to the service member being away on assignment, you may file your Form I-131 at either the office with jurisdiction over where you currently live or your permanent residence.

You may also submit your application in person at your local USCIS field office.

Parole Document for current and former service members outside of the U.S.

We generally send parole requests filed by individuals currently in removal proceedings or previously removed from the United States to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for review.

Current and Former Service Members and Qualifying Family Members

Applying for an advance parole document as a current or former U.S. service member to request parole under the Immigrant Military Members and Veterans Initiative (IMMVI), are residing outside the United States, and are filing your Form I-131 either as a standalone form or at the same time as Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.

Write “IMMVI” at the top of Form I-131 (check option 1e or 1f) and Form N-400 (if applicable).

Applying for an advance parole document as a current legal guardian or surrogate of a current or former service member to request parole under the IMMVI and you file Form I-131 concurrently with the service member’s Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.

Write “IMMVI” at the top of both the service member’s and your forms (Form I-131 for you and Forms I-131 and N-400 for the service member). Also check option 1e or 1f on Form I-131.

Applying for an advance parole document to request parole under the IMMVI as a current spouse, child, or unmarried son or daughter (and the unmarried son’s or daughter’s unmarried children who are under 21 years of age), of a current or former service member.

Family members should file together.
