I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service

ALERT: Starting June 26, USCIS will accept Form I-907 requests, filed either via paper form or online, for applicants seeking a change of status to F-1, F-2, M-1, M-2, J-1, or J-2 status, when filed together with Form I-539.

As of June 13, USCIS has been accepting Form I-907 requests, filed via paper form or online, for applicants seeking a change of status to F-1, F-2, M-1, M-2, J-1, or J-2 status, who have a pending Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status.

ALERT: Starting May 31, 2022, you must pay the Form I-907 fee separately from other filing fees.

If you submit a single, combined fee payment for multiple forms, we will reject the forms for improper fee payment.

Use this form to request faster processing of:

  • Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker;
  • Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Workers;
  • Certain classifications of Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization; and
  • Certain classifications of Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status.

Where to File

The filing location for Form I-907 depends on whether you are requesting premium processing for Form I-129, Form I-140, Form I-765, or Form I-539.

Form I-129

If you are requesting premium processing for Form I-129 visit our Form I-129 page to find the correct filing address.

Do not send requests for premium processing for I-129 to a USCIS lockbox.

Form I-140

If you are requesting premium processing for Form I-140, visit our Form I-140 page to find the correct filing address.

Form I-765:

If you are an F-1 student seeking OPT or a STEM OPT extension and you are requesting premium processing for your Form I-765, you may submit your Form I-907 online through myUSCIS or mail a paper form. Go to our Direct Filing Addresses for Filing Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing, For Form I-765 or Form I-539, page to see where you should file your application.

Due to limitations with the online Form I-907, representatives who previously filed a Form G-28 for Form I-765, will need to file a new Form G-28 when filing Form I-907 online to request premium processing of the underlying benefit request. Representatives who prefer not to file a second Form G-28 online must file their premium processing request and Form G-28 with the appropriate lockbox.

Form I-539:

If you are requesting premium processing for a Form I-539 seeking change of status to one of the following classifications, submit your Form I-907 online or mail a paper form.

  • F-1 Academic Student and F-2 Dependent of F-1;
  • M-1 Vocational Student and M-2 Dependent of M-1; or
  • J-1 Exchange Visitor and J-2 Dependent of J-1.

Visit our Direct Filing Addresses for Filing Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing, For Form I-765 or Form I-539, page to see where you should file your application.

Filing Fee

$2,500 if you are requesting premium processing of Form I-129 requesting E-1, E-2, E-3, H-1B, H-3, L (including blanket L-1), O, P, Q, or TN nonimmigrant classification.

$1,500 if you are requesting premium processing of Form I-129 requesting H-2B or R nonimmigrant classification.

$2,500 if you are requesting premium processing of Form I-140 requesting EB-1, EB-2, or EB-3 immigrant visa classification.

$1,500 if you are requesting premium processing of Form I-765 with eligibility category (C)(3)(A), (C)(3)(B), or (C)(3)(C).

$1,750 if you are requesting premium processing of Form I-539 seeking change of status to F-1, F-2, M-1, M-2, J-1, or J-2 nonimmigrant status.

These fees are in addition to all other filing fees required by the application or petition you are submitting. You cannot request waiver of a fee for a form for which you are requesting premium processing.

You can pay the fee with a money order, personal check, cashier’s check, or pay by credit card using Form G-1450, Authorization for Credit Card Transactions. If you pay by check, you must make your check payable to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

When you send a payment, you agree to pay for a government service. Filing and biometric services fees are final and non-refundable, regardless of any action we take on your application, petition, or request, or if you withdraw your request. Use our Fee Calculator to help determine your fee.

Pay each filing fee separately. We are transitioning to electronically processing immigration benefit requests, which requires us to use multiple systems to process your package. We may reject your entire package if you submit a single, combined payment for multiple forms.
