SAVE Discontinues Sponsor Deeming and Agency Reimbursement Information Collection
SAVE intends to discontinue an information collection initiative launched in September 2020 following a May 23, 2019 presidential memorandum. Feb. 2, 2021, President Biden issued Executive Order 14012, Restoring Faith in Our Legal Immigration Systems and Strengthening Integration and Inclusion Efforts for New Americans, revoking the May 23, 2019 memo. SAVE is providing affected user agencies notice that it intends to discontinue its information collection entitled “Sponsor Deeming and Agency Reimbursement” effective June 18, 2021.
SAVE will continue to provide Form I-864/Form I-864EZ, Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the INA, and Form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member, sponsor and household member information to agencies that need it to administer federal means-tested public benefits (in other words, Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, and Supplemental Security Income).
SAVE reminds administering agencies that they must maximize privacy protections associated with SAVE information, which includes limiting unnecessary additional verification requests, deleting unused user accounts, and notifying SAVE when no longer administering benefits requiring access to sponsor and household member information.
If your agency no longer requires access to sponsor and household member information through SAVE, please notify us via the email below so we can update your agency’s SAVE account accordingly.
