SAVE Additional Verification Response Time Update
The additional verification response time for September 2023 is now about 20 federal workdays, an improvement from the about 36 federal workdays it averaged this time last year (September 2022). Response times vary depending upon the complexity of the case. Cases that require additional information or submission of a document may require additional time.
To minimize the need for additional verification, SAVE users should follow these best practices when submitting a case to SAVE:
- Include all immigration enumerators provided by the applicant. For example, if the applicant presents a Form I-766, Employment Authorization Document, and a Form I-94, Arrival/Departure Record, enter both the USCIS number from the I-766 and the I 94 number into SAVE.
- Ensure that the applicant’s name, date of birth, and immigration enumerators provided to SAVE are entered exactly as they appear on the applicant’s immigration documentation. Data entry errors often require additional manual verification to resolve.
- If an applicant needs their most recent Form I-94 issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), they can visit CBP’s I-94 website or download the CBP One mobile app to retrieve a copy.
- Examples of immigration documents and the enumerators contained in them are available on the SAVE Commonly Used Immigration Documents webpage.
We appreciate your patience as our teams work to manually review and respond to your additional verification requests. We are working to further reduce our manual review times and will continue to provide updates to keep you informed.
We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
