Lockbox and Service Center Filing Location Updates

We sometimes change or adjust filing locations among our service centers or lockbox facilities to balance our incoming workload for timely processing. We may also refine addresses to improve internal processes at our service centers or lockbox facilities.

This page provides an up-to-date summary of changes we make to any filing location. You can also subscribe to the “Lockbox and Service Center Filing Location Updates” GovDelivery distribution list to receive an email each time we update a filing location.

Applications, petitions, or requests that are not mailed to the appropriate filing location may experience processing delays or may be rejected as improperly filed and returned to you to re-file.

Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker

June 06, 2023

On June 5, we changed the service center filing location for those filing Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, TN free trade petitions (noncitizens from Canada and Mexico) requesting an extension of stay or change of status, or a TN-1 application filed on behalf of a Canadian citizen who is outside of the United States. These should now be filed at the Texas Service Center instead of the Vermont Service Center. We will provide a 60-day grace period for filings that are mailed to the Vermont Service Center. Beginning Aug. 6, we will reject any Form I-129 TN applications filed at the Vermont Service Center that is postmarked after that date.

Form I-589, Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal

May 31, 2023

On May 31, we changed the filing location for those filing affirmative Form I-589, Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal, with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

New Filing Address for Courier Delivery Services to USCIS Phoenix Lockbox

March 30, 2023

On March 30, we changed the lockbox filing location to Tempe, AZ, for courier delivery services for FedEx, UPS, and DHL for the USCIS Phoenix lockbox. The lockbox filing location remains the same when using the U.S. Postal Service.

On March 30, we changed the filing location for certain applicants filing employment-based Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status.

Form I-131, Application for Travel Document

March 30, 2023

On March 30, we changed the lockbox filing location for certain applicants filing employment-based Form I-131, Application for Travel Document.

Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence of Adjust Status

March 20, 2023

On March 20, we changed the service center filing location for U nonimmigrants filing Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, to the Nebraska Service Center only, and not at the Vermont Service Center.

Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service

March 06, 2023

On March 6, we added the lockbox filing location for requestors filing Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service, to request premium processing for a pending Form I-765 under certain categories.
