U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) conducted two teleconferences on May 31, 2012 from 8:00 am to 9:00 am or 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm (Eastern) to discuss the transition to centralized Lockbox filing of Form I-601, Application for Waiver of Grounds of Inadmissibility, filed by applicants outside the U.S. The same engagement was held at two different times to accommodate participants domestically and abroad.

New Online Learning Tool to Help Aspiring Citizens Prepare for the Naturalization Test
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) invited any interested individuals to participate in a teleconference seminar for civil surgeons on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm (Eastern).
Due to the high number of recently filed I-129 petitions with USCIS, customers may experience a longer than usual period of time to receive a receipt notice from USCIS. Usually, customers can expect to receive their receipt notice within 30 days of delivery confirmation. However, due to an unexpectedly high volume of I-129 petitions, it may be an additional two to four weeks before customers receive a receipt notice.

On Tuesday May 22, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) launched the initial release of its new electronic immigration system, USCIS ELIS. USCIS ELIS is the agency's first-ever online immigration system created to modernize the process for both filing and adjudicating immigration benefits.
Agency begins transition from paper-based to online environment
