Parole Processing
USCIS Parole Operations processes a variety of Form I-131 parole requests for individuals outside of the United States, including expedited processing for cases involving extremely urgent circumstances, settlement-related processing, and policy-related processing priorities. USCIS Parole Operations, therefore, does not categorically adjudicate these requests on a first-in, first out basis. Consequently, we are not able to post a standard processing time for this type of application.
We are currently receiving an extremely high number of requests for parole. While we try to process all requests for parole quickly and efficiently, petitioners should expect processing delays. It will take time for us to work through the unprecedented number of parole requests we have received since Fall 2021 and return to normal processing times. We are taking the necessary steps to return to target processing times as soon as possible.
If you do not submit required evidence at the time of filing your parole request or if we need to ask you for additional information, it will take us longer to process your case.
If you would like to voluntarily provide additional evidence to your case after reviewing the Guidance on Evidence for Certain Types of Humanitarian or Significant Public Benefit Parole Requests page, you may do so in your USCIS online account by selecting “Unsolicited Evidence.”
If you filed your parole request by paper, you can use an “Online Access Code” to link your paper request to your USCIS online account. If you do not wish to provide additional evidence in your USCIS online account, you may also mail or email evidence to our office. Please see the mailing and email address listed on your Receipt of Request for Parole notice. We recommend providing evidence in your USCIS online account as it may take us longer to process evidence that is mailed or emailed to our office.
