On July 13, 2011, USCIS invited interested parties to participate in a stakeholder meeting regarding the American Competitiveness in the Twenty-First Century Act of 2000 (AC21).
On September 7, 2011, the USCIS Verification Division and the Office of Public Engagement hosted a bilingual national stakeholder engagement to discuss E-Verify Self Check.
Dear USCIS Stakeholders,Throughout the past year, USCIS has placed significant focus on advancing one of our immigration system’s foundational goals: promoting America’s economic prosperity. On numerous occasions, we gathered feedback on how to best maximize the potential of current immigration law to create jobs for U.S. workers, and this feedback greatly informed our actions. As a result, we have made significant progress in a number of areas of interest to stakeholders related to employment-based and high-skilled immigration. For example:
The Office of Public Engagement invited stakeholders to participate in the next quarterly national teleconference for state and local government stakeholders to be held Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm EDT.
On October 5, 2011, the Office of Public Engagement hosted an engagement with the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Office of Chief Counsel and other relevant program offices/directorates. USCIS discussed issues related to the adjudication of immigration benefits and other concerns posed by AILA members.
On June 10, 2011, USCIS invited interested parties to participate in a teleconference to discuss best practices for filing H-2A petitions.
USCIS conducted an external stakeholder meeting which provided an opportunity for leadership of the California Service Center to share updates and offer filing tips and best practices to our stakeholders.
On August 19, 2011, the USCIS National Benefits Center (NBC) invited interested parties to participate in a national stakeholder meeting to discuss steps that should occur with USCIS after a family returns home to the United States with their adopted child.
On April 21, 2011, the Office of Public Engagement (OPE) hosted a two part national stakeholder teleconference specific to issues affecting refugees, asylees and other non-citizens.
On September 8, 2011, the Office of Public Engagement hosted a stakeholder engagement to discuss issues related to a potential proposed rule affecting the Employment Authorization of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) beneficiaries and applicants.
