USCIS Teleconference to Discuss the Help Haiti Act of 2010
On February 9, 2011, the USCIS Field Operations Directorate and Office of Public Engagement held a teleconference to provide families of paroled Haitian orphans with information about filing for lawful permanent resident status (LPR).
Background
On December 9, 2010, President Obama signed into law the Help Haitian Adoptees Immediately to Integrate Act of 2010 (Help HAITI Act of 2010). This new law will make it possible for certain Haitian orphans paroled into the United States to become LPRs of the United States and get green cards.
