USCIS closed its field office in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, on Thursday, June 20, 2013. The USCIS Field Office in San Salvador, El Salvador, will assume Tegucigalpa’s former jurisdiction (Costa Rica, Honduras, and Nicaragua), and the U.S Department of State (DOS) Embassy in Tegucigalpa will assume responsibility for certain requests.
Beginning on June 21, individuals who reside in Costa Rica, Honduras, and Nicaragua must follow these instructions:

Mail your petition to the Nebraska or Texas Service Center depending on where you live. For beneficiary interviews/processing, contact the U.S. Embassy Consular Section in the country where the beneficiary resides. | |
Application for Transportation/Boarding Letter (for Lawful Permanent Residents who need proof of status) | Lawful Permanent Residents in Honduras: request in person at the U.S. Embassy Consular Section, DHS Window #17, Mondays at 9 a.m. All others: contact the U.S. Embassy Consular Section with jurisdiction over the location where you are traveling. |
