TPS Extended and Redesignated for South Sudan

The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has extended and redesignated the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for South Sudan for 18 months from May 3, 2016, through November 2, 2017. These actions allow eligible nationals of South Sudan (or persons without nationality who last habitually resided in South Sudan) to register or re-register for TPS in accordance with the notice published in the Federal Register. DHS has also automatically extended the validity of Employment Authorization Documents issued under the TPS designation of South Sudan for an additional six months, through November 2, 2016.
The redesignation allows individuals who currently do not have TPS to submit an initial application, in accordance with the Federal Register notice.
