U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in partnership with the Department of Justice (DOJ), Immigrant and Employee Rights Section (IER), invited librarians to participate in a webinar on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 2-3p.m. (Eastern) on Employee Rights and updates to the myE-Verify program. This webinar helped librarians assist employees in understanding their rights and roles regarding Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, E-Verify, and in learning about the free tools available within myE-Verify. Representatives from USCIS and DOJ provided an overview of how librarians can direct their customers to publically available resources on Employee Rights and myE-Verify. A question and answer session followed the presentation.
