Opportunities for Business Entrepreneurs within the U.S. Immigration System
On August 10, 2011, USCIS invited interested parties to participate in a stakeholder meeting to discuss issues of importance to immigrant entrepreneurs, start-up companies, and those who represent these parties.
USCIS sought feedback on the following topics, in addition to those that meeting participants raised:
- Suggestions for how USCIS policies and regulations in the employment-based arena can effectively address the unique circumstances of entrepreneurs, new businesses and start-up companies.
- Examples of the business life cycle for entrepreneurial ventures, small businesses, and start-ups, to include initial funding available, typical organizational structure, ownership structure, payment of salaries, etc.
- Examples of typical business plans for entrepreneurs and start-ups.
