Customer Identity Verification at USCIS Field Offices
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) invited interested individuals to participate in a stakeholder teleconference regarding the implementation of Customer Identity Verification (CIV) at field offices.
Beginning May 6, 2013, USCIS will implement the use of additional measures to verify the identity of applicants and petitioners appearing at field offices for interviews or to receive evidence of an immigration benefit. The use of CIV will enhance USCIS’s ability to uphold the integrity of the immigration system.
During the engagement, subject matter experts explained what CIV is, how it will work, and whom it will affect. Stakeholders had an opportunity to ask questions.
